But a staggering number aren't doing it properly – in fact, 52 per cent admit they're no good at content marketing, and that makes us sad. But it also drives us: at Axonn Media, we believe in simplifying content marketing for everyone.

That's where you come in. We're looking for a Content Marketing Specialist and Writer to join our Manchester or Leeds office, where you'll have the chance to flex your creative muscles in planning and producing high-quality content that our clients – and their audiences – will adore.

We're looking for someone whose skill set goes much further than writing. You'll need to be a well-rounded content marketer, equally comfortable working on content strategy, taking the lead with our partners, managing your workload, and collaborating with our in-house graphics, social, outreach, video production and animation teams.

And you'll need to have a genuine passion for content marketing. Location: Manchester or Leeds


To produce effective content for clients as measured against:

  • Quality of content produced

  • Effectiveness of content strategy, considering client goals and KPIs

  • Client satisfaction and service (are we hitting the KPIs associated with their goals?)

Description of Duties:


  • Able to write to a consistently high standard in a range of styles and across a range of sectors

  • Tailor the content you’re producing to client objectives, using your in-depth, working knowledge of content marketing

  • Ability to edit content/strategy/client proposals with a critical eye and consideration for client brief

  • Respond to evolving client requirements by applying your skills and expertise to recommend suitable tactics. You will be able to demonstrate:

    • Effective roadmapping for different tactics (planning, scheduling, execution estimates)

    • Relevancy for the objectives or client goals they are intended to achieve

    • How to estimate costs appropriate for different types of work

  • You will be confident communicating how your approach to planning, research and production delivers against client and project goals

Client Management and Strategy

  • Enhancing sales proposals, upsell and revoke bids

  • Use initiative to take the lead as required when collaborating with any stakeholders on a project

  • Confidence and ability to be the main point of contact for multiple internal (and possibly external) teams when working on client campaigns

  • Proactively drawing other internal teams into the implementation and strategy process to provide a full-value experience for clients

  • Make a valuable contribution to the client’s experience of our service during all customer-facing interactions

  • Confident to take the lead on speaking to clients to:

    • seek feedback

    • effectively explain new ideas and why they benefit the client

Workload Management

  • Plan and execute client briefs with consideration for the time allocated to deliver the work

  • Ability to understand workflow against available resources, also considering factors such as internal meetings, training

  • You will appreciate your time is valuable and at a premium, working with your team, managers and other departments to ensure your workload is manageable and time is being used effectively

Training & Development

  • Take responsibility for your own professional development

  • Work with other members of your team to improve your own skills and theirs

Skills and Expertise

  • Comprehensive understanding of the digital content marketing industry

  • Proven writing capabilities (ability to deliver engaging, on-brief content)

  • Ability to edit content and other deliverables in line with client strategy and expectations

  • Understanding of Google Analytics and Adword Keyword Planner - can navigate and identify basic indicators, measurements and insights

  • Able to form sophisticated strategies to meet client objectives, applying the  latest industry/sector developments

  • Social media skills across a range of platforms

  • Basic image editing capabilities and working knowledge of intellectual property

  • Minimum 12 months' experience
